07 Eifel-Blick „Panoramablick“

Dreiborn has an elevation of 535 to 600 m above sea level. At numerous places, hikers have wonderful panoramic views of the Eifel area and the Eifel National Park.

Panoramic Eifel views are incorporated into the local circular hiking routes no. 31 (“Rund um Dreiborn”, 5.5 km) and no. 32 (“Scheckenbach-Tour”, 9.5 km). With ist signposting, the hiking signage system, installed in 2012, is exemplary in the Eifel region.

Here at the edge of Dreiborn, there is a magnificent view to the southeast, to the summits of the Vulkaneifel. On a clear day the Hohe Acht, an extinct volcano from the Tertiary geologic period, can be seen on the horizon.

With a height of 747 m above sea level, the Hohe Acht is the highest mountain in the Eifel mountain range, which extends into the German states of Rhineland-Palatinate and North Rhine-Westphalia.
